Airplane Rat
At the Charlotte airport, I saw a Bellanca 14-9L with a state-of-the-art steamship on display. They call the Belanka the first airplane with retractable pilots, but it didn't catch my attention:

A ram air compressor is visible and permanently available (running) in the landing stage. I only know of RATs that provide emergency power for aircraft - and they are deployed (released) when needed. Another use for them is in cropdusters.
Why does this aircraft need a permanently installed RAT? Wouldn't it be more energy efficient and aerodynamic to provide DC/AC power to the engine via a magneto or alternator?
Background: I have seen pictures of other Bellanca 14-9Ls and they do not show a RAT. Could it be that this plane is not a passenger car (as its "State Airlines" livery suggests) but a real-life bomber?
Older aircraft may be equipped with an external wind turbine, for example, with the Luscombe 8A. Some wind turbine models have been granted a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) to allow them to be added to certain aircraft, such as the venerable J-3 Cub. The reason for using these, you assume, is that the engine is not equipped with any mechanism to drive an alternator or generator, i.e. no pulleys, no engine, etc. Examples of such engines, still in use today, are the A-65, A-75 and the original C-85. There are new ideas of wind generators today, such as the BPE14 turbo stand-by alternator. Disadvantages include increased drag and resistance to soil, debris and of course, birds and cats!

I am working on a project related to hydraulics system of A320 Airbus. I can't find a high resolution picture of a grounded A320 with the RAT upgraded. Anyone know where I can find one? Or if you have it and don't mind me using it for my project, I'd love it!! Thank you!
